Cloissonne drops

We have a wonderful tradition at work of creating a Secret Santa gift. Someone is going to receive these earrings on Tuesday December 19, 2006. The cloissonne beads were a surprise find in my art supply stash. I had forgotten I had them....... but once found, they begged to be embellished a little. I wonder who will receive them? I know........... but its a secret.

In the garden

I have just advanced my name for consideration as a demonstrator in the local garden tour for a July 2007 exhibit. I will receive word shortly of their decision. If sucessful, my
"In the Garden" Artscapes
a featured series of garden sculptures , will be displayed at a local garden during the tour.

I have been the President of the Canadian Doll Artists Association this past year and working diligently with our conference committee on the preparations for Celebration 2007 May 10-13 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Please visit the CDAA website link on this page for more information on what will be a stellar year for doll artists, and a special delight for visitors to the national capital region during the tulip festival .

Turquoise Lapel Pin

I was pleased to have this piece ready for a collector yesterday in time for Christmas. She was thrilled to have it for her mother in law to open it over the holidays. It is a unique piece of turquoise, custom beaded from my own design. This beadwork is one of my new passions.
I hope you enjoy it as well.

Studio time

Yesterday I completed a piece of jewelry that was custom ordered from a cabachon of turquoise that I had bead embellished.

Today I was fortunate enough to have a full day in the studio. I have worked on an ostrich egg furnishing the interior with high rag content paper and a textile hardner. Once the finish is dry I will be using a pearl pigment highlight on the inside. The exterior of the egg is finished in impressed paper clay, texture painted, and highlighted with pearl pigments, paint and 18K gold and silver leafing pens. I also used the textile hardener to furbish a baby dragon with silk ribbon embellisment.
